MORE ABOUT LIZA

More About Me.png

Born and raised in Maryland, Liza could crack crabs before she could read. She grew up around the family hobby of sailing and small boat regattas. Many happy summers were spent on the lake at the sailing school attached to the yacht club her family belonged to. As a model student-sailor, Liza definitely never ever snuck into the yacht club bar to use the pink lemonade fountain drink dispenser.

As she grew, so did her passion for studio art and dance. Over a decade of dance training led to nights spent teaching toddlers ballet and tap dance. Summers were soon spent studying on campus at visual art colleges. In college, Liza went on to major in Illustration and minor in graphic design and marketing, taking up cheerleading sophomore year. Go Tigers!

After school, Liza moved to the NYC area and got a job designing children’s accessories. A slew of design jobs followed: lingerie, textile, signage, web, toy, and truck wrap design (the wraps were put on the trucks in the sketchiest neighborhood outside NYC, but they were near the best bagels ever). Liza landed a dream gig and got a book deal illustrating a series of six

children’s books.

Newly married, Liza moved out deeper into northern New Jersey. The moment she had a yard, she was in need of a dog, and a Great Dane puppy named George soon became the most spoiled dog within a 100-mile radius.

Hobbies like baking, growing mushrooms, playing billiards, and playing with her meatball of a yellow lab are still among her favorite things to do. However, there are some things she cannot do. Chief among them are watching horror movies, riding a bike, and keeping house plants alive.

A wife and mom to two little girls, Liza will try most things once (even if she cringes through large portions of it).
